To Whom It May Concern:
Enclosed you will find my employment resume containing a brief description of my experience and talents,
an employment history and my educational background. I appreciate the time you are taking to read and
consider my request for employment. Having had the responsibility of hiring personnel myself, I know
the effort that goes into making a final decision. If you would allow me a moment, I would like to
describe myself and my and skills to you.
I have been involved in the area of graphic design both as an employee of several
local firms and through various freelance projects. My experience ranges from simple desktop publishing
to the layout and design of display advertising for several local publications. In addition to print design,
I have considerable experience in web design projects which, along with graphics skills, require HTML and
JavaScript programming knowledge.
Due to the ever increasing technological advances in the Graphics industry,
I have completed courses at Allan Hancock College in Graphic Design and Communication.
My studies included: Electronic Imagery, Computer Illustration, Digital Photography,
Design on the Computer, Desktop Publishing, Color Theory, Web and Graphic Design.
I would certainly value the opportunity to utilize and increase this knowledge in
the type of professional setting your firm is sure to provide.
My work ethics are based on the philosophy of going the extra mile and
consciously being aware of tasks that need to be performed before being asked by my
employer to perform them. As a result, I am able to work very well with limited or
no supervision. I do, however, consider myself to be a team player and am quite
capable and comfortable working in a supervised position. I accept challenges and
am very teachable. I feel very confident that I would be an asset to your organization
and look forward to the opportunity of an interview.
Sincerely,
John Snowdy
